This series of International Conferences on Boundary and
Interior Layers-Computational and Asymptotic Methods was
conceived by J. J. H. Miller. The idea was to attract
researchers interested in computational and asymptotic
methods for all kinds of non-smooth problems, i.e. the
hard problems.
Participants were encouraged from both
academia and industry. The first six conferences in the
series were organized by J. J. H. Miller, the subsequent
five by local committees in each venue.
